Education in Self-Defense Law for Responsibile Citizens
Education in Self-Defense Law for Responsibile Citizens
Steven Westfall
In this country, there are five fundamental elements related to self-defense (Innocence, Proportionality, Avoidance, Imminence, and Reasonableness). They apply in all fifty states. Each state may make it's own rules about an element, but they are about 80% consistent. You cannot possibly know the boundaries of a legal self-defense action unless you are familiar with these elements. Each one is a building block of keeping any action you take within the category of legally justified.
You should know that any self-defense action is required to pass all five to be considered legal. If you fail to pass even one element, you will not be allowed to claim self-defense for your actions. That can be disastrous if you go to court.
This free training is for those new to self-defense and also a review for those more experienced. For your free access to this information, click on the link at the top of this page (blue banner).
